Therefore, once the comet is close to the Sun the dust and ice content begin to evaporate. Therefore, when viewed with the telescope, a comet appears blurred and/or has an extended tail.
What is an actual meteor? Let's begin with the meteoroid. A meteoroid can be described as a tiny fragment of an asteroid or comet that is typically pebble-sized however, it could be smaller or bigger and usually formed from collision.. If a meteoroid is close to Earth and then enters the Earth's atmosphere, it's referred to as meteor. A meteor is able to enter the Earth's atmosphere at extremely fast velocity. It then burns and creates a streak of glowing light, which is known as a shooting star. If you've observed an shooting star, then it's likely that you have seen meteors. If it survives the flame and hits the floor, it's referred to as meteorite.
