HIMARS can fire the same munitions as MLRS Launchers, but with one key difference - a wheelsed chassis rather than tracks. This design allows soldiers, Marines, and allies to quickly position, engage, and relocate after firing. Future battlefields are unpredictable. This makes adaptability even more important. Sometimes, the fight must be brought to an unreachable location. HIMARS excels in this area because of its lightweight, making it very transportable. You can even deploy it from a C-130 or larger aircraft. This allows you to quickly and decisively act in difficult-to-reach and remote locations. The U.S. has multiple global partners who operate HIMARS launchers and MLRS launchers, so it can combine artillery firepower with key positions in the world.
